“CRISTA” is a specialised web-platform, which provides specific site-based assessment of climate change risks and hazards.  Changing climate presents a wide range of risks and opportunities that cut across sectors and disciplines in Bulgaria’s regions. The platform offers many knowledge products to advance adaptation to climate change across the country. It provides accessible information about assessment of different types of natural or technological disasters and threats.

The Platform creates an enabling environment for adaptation, where decision-makers in regions and industry are equipped with the tools and information they need to adapt to changing climate, as well as to make informed decisions. Climate insurance often requires a comprehensive scientific and analytical background. This analytical tool will provide cohesive information about the damage which climate changes could cause to properties and human beings via knowledge-based decisions to protect people,business and future investments.

CRISTA is a start-up within the Bulgarian CLIMATE-KIC. Participant in the EU start up awards 2017 in category Fintech.

Our Mission

​

In recognition of the growing threat from natural and anthropogenic hazards for Bulgaria’s regions and resource sectors, we have developed mechanisms for risk identification and adaptation to climate change. By the use of risk assessment databases, analysis tools and spatial models “CRISTA” provides the necessary information for disaster management and promotes risk awareness, preparedness and prevention on a large scale.

It allows:

• Quick and easy access to the information on various types of natural disasters;

• Detailed assessment upon specific user request on particular territory affected or predicted by disaster;

• Available data with constant collection from reliable sources.

The platform addresses effectively current climate changes and provides an opportunity for area specific assessment and analysis.
